The Sanctuary was ready to celebrate,
it was thanksgiving,
a day to relax, a day to give thanks.
We waited for this western meditation master,
whose war was with the enemies within,
rather than with the enemies without.
I wondered about this man,
who had surrendered to be a monk
at the feet of Swami Muktananda
many years before.
Yet he had outgrown this Indianness.
Aware of each moment,
no judgment, focussed.
And we were lit up by him.
