Music Player Instruction: play and allow
Setting: a local park/ a spacious lounge area/ a hall
Preparation:
– be clear in your intention – healing
– choose a suitable inviting space
– set up big cushions/ seats
– choose NOW as background music
– decide on the group size
Introduction:
- welcome the person/ group
- allow 5 to 10 minutes to sit in silence with NOW playing in the background
- share the benefits of a laughter session and the main steps
- emphasize the focus – enjoyment and feeling well
Procedure:
- warming up – stretching/ humming/ facial gestures/ clapping/ body movement/ practicing eye contact with the instructor
- breathing deeply – for further relaxation and lung preparation for laughter
- producing laughing sounds [ at first – pretending] – focusing on heart area/ staying in a light, playful and silly mood
- activating more laughter – visualizing funny/ embarrassing/ celebratory scenarios
- continuing – intentional laughter from the belly for about 20 minutes/ coming back to the breath if needed
- facing and looking at others – seeing the laughter increasing
- winding down
- sitting quietly/ watching the breath/ observing how you are feeling at that moment/ leaving if complete
- optional – sharing your experience while having a cup of herbal tea/ having a chat with others/ your instructor
