Summertime

The days are long

The nights are short

How thankful am I for it all

 

The sun is ablaze

And it’s time for a change

 

A shady tree or in the grass

Is the place to sit and hide

 

Or perhaps running barefoot in the park

Wet feet by the sea is something I like to see

 

Children’s laughter in the air

Enjoying their time away
