The Crocus Spring’s First Flower

Music Instruction: play and let your heart sing

Little crocus still asleep

In Winter’s deep dark earth

Slowly awaiting the stirring

Of springtime’s rebirth –

Wake up!  Wake up!

The south wind is calling

The sky’s turning blue

And now no snowflakes are falling –

The adults and children are weary

 Of wintertime’s dark and dreary gloom

They peer from their windows

To see your bright bloom –

Send forth your tiny blossom

And make our hearts sing

Oh we can’t wait to see you First flower and bloom of Spring –
