Walking around the Sanctuary in Virginia I am surrounded by totems everywhere.
Each flower, tree, crystal and animal brings warmth: a message, a spiritual connection and healing that is personal and or tribal.
How lucky I am at this time of my evolution that I am free and able to choose a tribe, a mascot, a totem to help me understand where I am and who I am.
I continue walking along the path and see deer, squirrels and butterflies greeting me.
Flying above me are the colourful Blue Jay and Red Cardinal birds.
As I leave the path on the left are the red and white flowers in their full bloom.
The symbolism is everywhere around me. They all are reflecting back in their own unique way where I am. The messages are coming fast.
The duck in the lake is telling me to let things go. The squirrel moving up and down the tree is showing me that I need to be more playful.
The totems are getting my attention. They’re telling me to be more attentive and aware of the space that I’m sharing with them, my kin, my ancestors and my world.
I am in awe and grateful for the experience.
