Here infront of me
I see a family of four white tail deer.
Their tails wagging and their eyes watching
every step I take around the forest track.
They look happy in this forest
moving freely as they please.
In the early morning
or late in the afternoon
you’ll always see them here in cheer.
I see them running and skipping with ease
up and down the hill
only to join their fellow deer.
Safe they feel here from the hunters’ guns
and with them are the birds and butterflies that abound
