Figs – the first fruit that man has known has been also woman’s first beautifying tool.
For centuries women have used figs to make face masks. They are full of enzymes, are anti-inflammatory and hydrating.
A simple fig face mask was used to feel refreshed and moisturized in the hot Mediterranean terrain.
My neighbour who was of Italian background used the fresh figs often to make a face mask for her and her daughters. I commented how smooth, clear and glowing her skin looked. She told me her secret and was happy to share it.
So here it is:
- Place 2–3 fresh figs [skin and all] in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Spread the paste on the face and neck if desired.
- Let it dry for 10–15 minutes.
- Rinse off with cold water.
- Enjoy the glow.

Note
- If fresh figs are not available, use dry figs and add water to make the mask spreadable.
- Olive oil may be added to the paste.
- The fig face mask can be used to clear the skin of blemishes.
- If medical conditions persist, please seek professional medical advice.
